Keeping in line with the Jing training protocol, a typical body massage will incorporate: 
•	Myofascial Release, to help reduce restrictions in the body’s connective tissue
•	Trigger Point Therapy, to help diminish patterns of pain
•	Heat/cold for easing off soft tissue tension and reducing inflammation
•	Swedish Massage, to increase blood and lymph circulation
•	Acupressure points to aid in unblocking stagnant energy within your body
•	Stretching to assist the muscle fibres in improving range of movement

These specific techniques are accompanied by the option of having a bespoke aromatherapy blend for your treatment to support the manual soft tissue work.

Clinical Massage w/ Aromatherapy

Using Contrast Therapy to fully compliment Sarah’s Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy this treatment is designed to have you feeling both relaxed and revived.  

Hot and Cold Stone massage is great for improving vascular and lymphatic circulation. It effects cellular activity by encouraging a greater volume of blood flow therefore bringing more nutrients to the area being worked.  It helps to reduce swelling and chronic joint inflammation.  The contrast of hot and cold also has a positive response on the muscular, nervous and digestive systems.

The hot stones will warm the soft tissue up increasing the pliability of the muscles and fascia as well as soothe the body into a deep sense of relaxation and comfort.  This deep relaxation sends your nervous system into the parasympathetic mode which decreases stress hormones and regulates breathing, digestion, heart rate, and other crucial functions aiding in rest and recovery.

Cold stones on the other hand activate the sympathetic nervous system.  In this setting the effect is likely to increase endorphins that can improve mood, glycogen that can increase energy and adrenaline that can blunt pain.  The cold contrast constricts the blood vessels creating a pumping action for the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This makes the cold stones a perfect tool for treating soft tissue injury, pain and swelling by reducing inflammation.

Hot and Cold Stones Massage

Pregnancy is a time in a woman’s life like no other.  Her body is undergoing many changes and new developments which will likely challenge her body and mind in different ways.  This treatment is here to support her along this journey of the different stages of pregnancy as well as supporting her for delivery.

This is a side-lying treatment supported by pillows and bolsters to help relieve muscle tension, reduce excess fluid retention, and create space for mum to decompress.

Prenatal massage, according to research gathered by the American Massage Therapists Association, has been shown to specifically help with:
•	Alleviating back +leg pain
•	Reducing labour pain during childbirth
•	Lessening postoperative pain
•	Reducing anxiety + stress
•	Improving mood + lifting depression
•	Easing insomnia

Massage in pregnancy can benefit mama and baby. As with all of Sarah’s treatments, she will work with you to design the treatment and determine what you would like to get out of the session with her.

Pre-Natal Massage

Massage has shown very positive results in helping those who suffer with Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) in several ways.

It effectively helps to:
•	Relieve muscle tension - TMD often occurs with tightness in the jaw, neck, and facial muscles. Massage helps to relax these muscles, reducing discomfort and stiffness.

•	Reduce pain - By releasing trigger points and improving blood flow, massage can alleviate the pain associated with TMD, including jaw pain, headaches, and earaches.

•	Improve jaw mobility - Regular massage therapy can increase the range of motion in the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ), helping individuals open and close their mouth with less difficulty or discomfort.

•	Alleviate headaches - Again by releasing trigger points and reducing tension, many headaches subside.

•	Promote better blood circulation - Massage increases blood flow to the TMJ area, which can reduce inflammation, encourage tissue repair, and enhance overall joint function.

•	Minimise stress - Since stress often contributes to jaw clenching and muscle tension, massage promotes relaxation and stress relief, which can prevent further aggravation of TMD symptoms.

•	Address postural deviations - Suboptimal posture can worsen TMD symptoms by placing extra strain on the jaw and neck. Massage can help release tension in the neck and upper back, improving posture and reducing jaw stress.

This treatment will work on muscles in the upper shoulders, neck as well as on the jaw and head.

By addressing both the physical and stress-related aspects of TMD, massage offers a holistic approach to symptom management.
